Another craze of mine. Obviously not the photocopies done in tousands of copy-shops, but the serious one: offset-quality, on-demand, variable data. A product still quite snobbed, here in Italy, and I don’t understand the reason. I think I have some good experience in digital printing and therefore know who to contact for printing and finishing.
I believe to be one of the Italian pioneers in the direct marketing/mailing business, handling the Franklin Mint account, a very clever company that used to sell commemorative coins in every occasion. We even did double spreads to support their mailings.Even if direct marketing is slowly gaining growing shares of the Italian market, I hope it will become an even more important aspect in cross-media communication, thanks to new printing technologies like personalization and print-on-demand.
